4/27/08: The 1st ever
Pre-Season Bueno Bash was held last night at Joe's house and it went quite swimmingly. Eight out of ten Buenos were
in attendance, the only two not there were reigning MVP Kootch because he was in the homeland taking down some Guiness and
Davey Conlon who was just signed to a multi-year deal has elected to finish out his college career before making the leap
to the bigs.
Many memorable moments happened last
night, but only a few will be mentioned.
1) The fact that Joe said the party
started at 4 p.m., yet more then half the team showed up at 6.
2) GM Chris Pazz was presented with
the "C" on his shirt, as the team elected to vote him the 1st captain in Team Bueno history.
3) The face of the franchise, Pat
Sheehan, decided to end his holdout and is scheduled to be in uniform on opening day.
4) Joe's 1st day as manager seemed
to go well as he kept any team turmoil at bay at least until the season starts and stats are up on the website.
5) Mike Stanton was given a new number,
33, and the team rescinded the fine for ALLOWING his old jersey to be stolen.
6) Chuck was the true team player
as he made sure that no one was allergic to peanuts before they ate the pasta salad.
7) Deps barely eeked out the 80% of
the votes to get him into the Hall of Buenos, but he's in.
8) Josh firmly stated that he will
be the starting pitcher on the All-Star team, but unfortunately opposing hitters dig the long ball.
9) It is believed that Beef improved
his speed and agility in the off-season because when Sheehan put out the cheeseburgers Beef was at the table within a blink
of an eye.
10) Trainor was the only one
with any team spirit as he wore his Team Bueno jersey.
